jboss java io file error while startup

If you are trying to use JDK 7 with Jboss 5.1.0GA and seeing below error while starting the Jboss. Then please follow below steps to fix it.

Solution:

It’s a bug that occurs with certain specific combinations of JRE and OS versions (configuration does not specify the parameter type for constructor)
You need to change the content of conf/bootstrap/profile.xml. Look for the definition of the AttachmentStore, and change the constructor line so that it starts: <constructor><parameter class=”java.io.File”>

– edit JBOSS_HOME/<ProfileName>/conf/bootstrap/profile.xml file

– Search for below content

<bean name="AttachmentStore" class="org.jboss.system.server.profileservice.repository.AbstractAttachmentStore">
<constructor>
<parameter>
<inject bean="BootstrapProfileFactory" property="attachmentStoreRoot" />
</parameter>
</constructor>

Add  class=”java.io.File” to the parameter so that final it will look like below:

<constructor><parameter  class="java.io.File">
<inject bean="BootstrapProfileFactory" property="attachmentStoreRoot" />
</parameter>
</constructor>

Save the file and restart, the error shall go away.
